About this Project

NEUROBID  is a project which aims to examine the neuro-cognitive profile of individuals who speak more than one languages (bilinguals) or dialects (bi-dialectals). We seek to achieve this goal by comparing bilinguals’ and bi-dialectals’ cognitive functioning to that of monolinguals  using both behavioural (accuracy scores, reaction times) and psychophysiological (Event-Related Potentials) measures.

The project is implemented as part of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowship awarded by the European Commission to Kyriakos Antoniou (with Georgios Spanoudis as a supervisor) in the Center for Applied Neuroscience, University of Cyprus. It builds on the Fellow’s previous work with bilingual and bi-dialectal children in collaboration with researchers at Cambridge University and the Université libre de Bruxelles (see here and here).
